Born February 21, 1989 (age 23) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA
Defenseman with the St. Louis Blues
I chose Cole because he shares a birthday with Krista. Happy birthday, you two! Much like Krista’s favorite guy Patrick Kane, Cole began by doing two years with the US National Team Development Program. Drafted 18th overall by the Blues in 2007, Cole went to Notre Dame first for three seasons. In those three seasons, the Fighting Irish went to the NCAA tournament all three times, including their very first Frozen Four appearance in 2008. Cole decided to go pro after his third season and was assigned to the Peoria Rivermen.
Cole made his big show debut on Nov. 6, 2010 and scored his first NHL goal, as seen above, on March 9, 2011 against the Blue Jackets. He’s also made three straight World Junior appearances representing the USA: 2007, 2008 and 2009. In ’07 the team won bronze, but did not medal the other two years. This season in St. Louis, he has played 18 games so far, scored a goal and tallied four assists with 14 penalty minutes.
