Blackhawks-Ducks Game 2 wrapup

Chicago Blackhawks at Anaheim Ducks

6-5, Blackhawks

Goals: Bobby Ryan x2 (Anaheim), Andrew Cogliano (Anaheim), Patrick Sharp x3 (Chicago), Teemu Selanne (Anaheim), Dave Bolland (Chicago), Jonathan Toews x2 (Chicago), Corey Perry (Anaheim)

Goalies: Corey Crawford (.821), Jonas Hiller (.848), Dan Ellis (.889)

The Good

HOLY CRAP, WE WON. What Edmonton game? I do not know of this three-game losing streak of which you speak.

It's so nice to have you back where you belong, Seabs.

Brent Seabrook came back! I’m sure Duncan Keith is happy to see his linemate on the ice again. And hey, he got the team championship belt for his comeback!

Scoring goals and staying beautiful.

Patrick Sharp got an unbelievable hat trick! He also got first star of the game! Vomit ALL the rainbows.

Jonathan Toews got a record five points today (2 goals, 3 assists), which beats the four points he racked up against the Atlanta Thrashers (snif)  on November 6, 2010. Should we be talking about him being a Hart Trophy contender already?

Um, Tazer? That is not your "sexy face." That is your "Captain Derpface."

This game, holy crap. After being down 4-2 in the first 40 minutes of play, the boys came back and showed everybody what they can do. Four goals in nine minutes? No problem! You want two goals in 28 seconds? Sure!

Ah, it feels good to win again.

The Bad

We struggled in the first 40 minutes, which I think is way too long to get in the scoring groove. More defense at net, please.

Poor Ducks. After those three successive goals in three minutes, they pulled Jonas Hiller in favor of backup goalie Dan Ellis…who let in Toews’ second goal of the game. Well then.

The Ugly

That would be our penalty kill, which is dead stupid last in the league. Remember how we redeemed our PP? We need to do that pronto with the PK.

Next Game

at Los Angeles Kings

November 26

WGN-TV (Chicago area only)/Center Ice

This is the last game of the Circus Trip, so let’s go home with back-to-back wins we can carry over to the UC.
