Bruins game 26 wrapup

Boston Bruins at Winnipeg Jets

2-1, Jets

Goals: Andrew Ladd (Winnipeg), Shawn Thornton (Boston), Bryan Little (Winnipeg)

Goalies: Ondrej Pavelec (.975%), Tuukka Rask (.943%)

The Good:

Wait, there were good things about this game? Are you sure?

Well, we weren’t shut out. At least Shawn Thornton scored. Good for him, there’s that scoring depth again.

Also it was nice to see Johnny Boychuk completely upend Evander Kane.

The Bad:

Pretty much everything?

Okay, the Tyler Seguin thing. He was scratched due to a poor attendance record at team breakfasts and other meetings. I really hope he learned a lesson because honestly the second line could’ve used him tonight. They were disjointed and out of synch without their other winger.

But I’m not placing blame for this big fat stinkin’ L and snapped points streak solely at Seguin’s size 13 1/4 feet. It seemed like everyone wasn’t being themselves tonight, especially not the top line. They were terrible, flubbing so many scoring chances it practically ached.

The Ugly:

When Jack Edwards wasn’t taking potshots at Atlanta–like we really need any more of that?–then the fans in the arena were showing their ugly sides. Chanting Tuukka with four minutes gone in the game and no score yet! Booing Zdeno Chara not because of any incident with Habs but because he is the captain? (Their new “tradition” is to boo all other captains because they wear the C. I can’t even put into words how ridiculous that is.) It will be nice to not be in this barn again for a while, that’s for sure.

Next Game:

vs. Florida Panthers

December 8

NESN

Let’s not take these guys for granted, either–they’re atop their division for a reason. And maybe playing in a warmer climate will make the Bruins wake up and, you know, do well again!
