Blackhawks-Avalanche Game Game 3 wrapup

Colorado Avalanche at Chicago Blackhawks

4-0, Avalanche

Goals: David Jones, TJ Galiardi, David Van Der Gulik and Chuck Kobasew, all Colorado

Goalies: Corey Crawford (.818), Semyon Varlamov (1.000)

The Good

The only bright spot for me was Dave Bolland’s fight with TJ Galiardi. It was Bolly’s first fighting major! I love our pet Rat.

The younglings sparkled again. Jimmy Hayes and Andrew Shaw had some very good chances at a goal, and Dylan Olsen was paired with our best defensemen. Too bad they were the best players in the game.

Looks like the young guns need to show the "old guys" how to play.

The Bad

You know it’s bad when United Center starts to clear out before the game ends and Jonathan Toews doesn’t give a postgame interview. Yikes.

The Ugly

It’s called defense, you guys. See Corey Crawford? You need to protect him. Don’t rely on him alone to keep the puck out of the net. You are defensemen, so defend the net. And forwards, you need to have better control of the puck. Sloppy, sloppy play by the lot of you. GET IT TOGETHER.

Oh, and whoever suggested on Twitter that Patrick Kane should be traded (as well as the person on WGN Radio the other night who specifically suggested a Kane trade for Rick Nash) can take their suggestions and…use your imagination on that one, folks.

Next Game

vs. Detroit Red Wings

January 8

NBC Sports Network

This is the first of two games on national TV that bookend the week – the other is on Saturday. Can we please step it up and not hand them a win?
