Emma: Oh boy. There is basically nothing bad about Team Chara to me–except that John Tavares wasn’t picked, because I really like him and he’s a great asset to his team. I also had to have a little laugh of amusement at the Boston alum reunions that will happen with Dennis Wideman and Phil Kessel. For this weekend alone, Carey Price will be on Boston’s side, too, which will be interesting. It seems like this weekend, we focus more on commonalities than on team affiliation. Team Alfredsson is like The Ottawa Senators, Swedish Countrymen ‘n Pals; Team Chara is like The Boston Bruins, Slovakian Countrymen ‘n Pals. All the Blackhawks (and the Blackhawks alumnus in Brian Campbell) are also on the blue team, which I’m sure Krista likes. While both teams are, of course, stacked with talent, it looks like Chara is a favorite to make a big impact and maybe take it all. I know I’m excited to see what they can do.

Krista: I really like how Team Chara has heavy hitters like Dion Phaneuf and Kimmo Timonen, and that we have a couple of the league’s top scorers in Evgeni Malkin and Marian Hossa. I’m also very happy for the mini-Blackhawks reunion with Hoss, Campbell and Patrick Kane. And I really loved Big Z’s first pick in Pavel Datsyuk – it doesn’t hurt to have him in your corner.  What really made me smile was Z mentioning that Jarome Iginla got his 500th career goal this season; he seems so underappreciated because he plays for the Flames. While Team Alfredsson has the Sedins and Claude Giroux, Team Chara has speed, net presence and puck control…not to mention a 6’9″ gentle giant who likes to hug it out.
