Dallas Stars at Chicago Blackhawks
Goals: Marian Hossa (Chicago), Steve Ott, Loui Eriksson and Michael Ryder (Dallas)
Goalies: Corey Crawford (22/25, .880); Richard Bachman (26/27, .963)
It was good to see Niklas Hjalmarsson back in action after being out with a concussion. We need our little meatball!
Despite the loss, Corey Crawford‘s saves tonight were spectacular, especially the one against Adam Burish (who, by the way, is the subject of trade talk between Dallas and Chicago). The three goals scored tonight weren’t his fault, in my opinion.
Marian Hossa got our only goal for the game, with an assist from Michael Frolik. Fro’s eyebrows got half an assist each.
The winning streak ends at four. Ah well, we’ll just start over.
Another game without Toewsbot Unit 19-C (Jonathan Toews) due to his “upper-body injury”, and it’s uncertain if he’ll travel with the team to California for their games. Even worse, his motor vehicle operation program got borked this morning, resulting in him crashing his car into an El track support beam. He was not damaged and even attended the game. We’ll see how soon he’s reactivated for play.
Our power play is now 0-33, and we’re still the only team without a shutout win. The shutout will come, but I weep over the PP.
We played great for 50 minutes before falling apart for the last half of the third period. WHY.
All of those goals came because Dallas screened Crow and we didn’t save him. Are we back to that load of cow chips called pathetic defense? Please don’t disappoint me, guys.
at Los Angeles Kings
The Kings have been on a terrible scoring slump of their own lately. Maybe we can add to that, even if they’ve added Jeff Carter to their roster…
