Blackhawks-Predators Game 5 wrapup

Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks

6-1, Predators

Goalies: Corey Crawford (11/15, .733), Ray Emery(7/9, .778); Pekka Rinne (24/25, .960)

The Good

It was Ed Belfour Heritage Night, in honor of his induction to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.

Sorry about the crappy game, Eddie.

What else was good…um, this fight between Brandon Bolling and Jordin Tootoo?

How about the nifty goal by Viktor Stalberg that happened one stupid second after the power play expired?

At least he kept us from being shut out.

Oh, and I saw the sneakiest little steal from Ryan Suter by Patrick Kane. That was about 30 minutes before Kaner almost got into a fight at the net before Shea Weber snatched him out of harm’s way.

Poor Kaner, he looks like he's trying to escape this terrible game.

The Bad and The Ugly

So much wrong, so, so much.

If this is what we’re like in the absence of Duncan Keith, then I cringe at the thought of the next four games. You could tell how big a role he plays defensively, because that’s where we just fell apart. Our power play was just sluggish and downright awful, and at one point Stally had a perfect shot lined up, but he passed that up to try to pass to Kaner. NO, STOP THE EXCESSIVE STICKHANDLING. Not now, when we need the points.

CSN-Chicago

Another brick wall goalie. I think I’ll start crying now.
