Blackhawks-Predators Game 6 wrapup

Chicago Blackhawks at Nashville Predators

5-4 Blackhawks

Goals: Patrick Sharp, Dave Bolland, Patrick Kane and Viktor Stalberg (Chicago), Martin Erat, Shea Weber x2 and Alexander Radulov (Nashville), Brent Seabrook (Chicago)

Goalies: Corey Crawford (29/33, .879); Pekka Rinne (32/37, .865)

The Good

We clinched a playoff spot! Don’t know exactly where we’ll land right now, but we’re in!

And they didn't need another team's help this time!

Was that Patrick Sharp with a power play goal? And Dave Bolland with another one? Hold on, I need to pick myself up off the floor.

Was Corey Crawford his usual crawsome self? You tell me:

Patrick Kane had a gorgeous quasi-breakaway goal in the second period. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t squeal over it.

After Viktor Stalberg‘s goal, we were up 4-0. We hadn’t had that kind of cushion since the Rangers game that snapped that 9-game losing streak.

There are pretty goals, and then there are pretty Swedish goals.

After blowing said lead and allowing the Preds to tie it, thank everything sacred and holy for Brent Seabrook and his game-winning goal. Once again, I think his hair got an unofficial assist.

Last but not least, TOEWSBOT UNIT 19-C REPAIR PROCESS  IS COMPLETE. Yep, Jonathan Toews is officially cleared for contact!

The Bad

I don’t know why Pekka Rinne wasn’t pulled after Stally’s goal. Other coaches would’ve pulled their goalie after that disaster (unless you’re Claude Noel and pulled your goalie after two goals in the first six minutes of the first period).

Even Joey the Junior Reporter doesn't know.

The Ugly

WE. BLEW. THAT LEAD. I don’t know what it is about leads that we can’t hold them. Maybe we get overconfident, maybe we get lazy. This is not the time to be doing that!

Next Game

vs. Minnesota Wild

April 1

WGN (unless you have DirecTV, the dirty jerks)

Last home game of the season – let’s hope they don’t make April fools of us!
